Face your fears and build your falling resilience!

Learn to Fall is a six-week course where participants actively practice falling, tripping, and getting back up — building resilience, confidence, and strength in the process. Classes are held at Aikido of Madison, a stunning martial arts studio with a large padded floor in the heart of Madison’s east side.

Over six weeks, participants will strengthen and develop movement skills in four key areas:

  • Balance

  • Strength

  • Range

  • Awareness

The course teaches how to fall safely and recover quickly, using simple, easy-to-understand language. Because these skills build progressively, participants should plan to attend the full course.

Who it’s for:
This class is open to all adults who can go down to the floor and get back up independently. It is especially valuable for anyone who has experienced a fall and wants to rebuild their confidence and falling resilience.

This class received the Balance Stamp of Approval (BSOA) from Safe Communities in Madison. So it meets the criteria of forty minutes per session of balance-enhancing exercises. Including ten minutes each in four key areas (static balance, dynamic balance, dual tasking and strengthening).
